Photography During Your Tour

In most cases, you can take photos during an apartment tour, but please ask the leasing representative before you begin. A few photos can be a practical way to remember the layout, finishes, natural light, storage, and details of each home as you compare rental options. Your representative can also clarify any building-specific guidelines and point out features that may not be obvious at first glance.

Photography policies may vary depending on the property, whether a suite is occupied, and the areas being toured. Respect for residents, privacy, and building security is important in every purpose-built rental community. If you are viewing a show suite, vacant home, or common area, photography is often straightforward once permission has been confirmed. If the home is occupied or another visitor is present, additional care may be needed.

  • Ask first: Let the leasing representative know that you would like to take photos or a short video for your own home-search reference.
  • Keep people out of frame: Do not photograph residents, staff, other prospective renters, personal belongings, vehicle licence plates, access fobs, keys, or security equipment.
  • Follow directions in shared spaces: Some amenity areas, entry systems, parkades, and service areas may have restrictions for privacy or safety reasons.
  • Use images responsibly: Photos taken during a tour should be for personal decision-making, not posted publicly or used commercially without approval.

Photos are helpful, but they work best alongside your tour conversation.
